Yes! Fully behind this.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting stuck in with my sherpa duties, but it started to take up a massive portion of my time every day and we weren't seeing anything for it besides appreciation from the community (which in itself is sometimes enough!) I had to stop getting so involved and took a step back about a month ago because it was frustrating thinking of the time spent πŸ˜‚

+1 on this proposal! They are the unsung heroes, especially after the 0-1 growth the protocol has experienced.

The education has been A+, I would argue vital in keeping some of the early ohmies around this long also!

Bedrock of the community, cheers to the sherpas <3

Great points ser.

But I couldn't disagree more tbh.

The amount of value sherpas bring to the table the countless hours they put in should be compensated no matter how we slice it.

It's far from redit imo

It's about compensating contributors that bring value imo

All Sherpas are 100% they all paid their dues to become a Sherpa and I'm confident we have strong and well intended sherpa group.

To me is more of a matter of finding the right balance towards a fair payment distribution and I'm also confident it won't be a big issue as the 20 Sherpas will be the ones voting (except to themselves) and I trust the sherpas on that.

It baffles me that sherpas are not compensated for the value they bring to Olympus DAO. (To say the least). It makes no sence to me.

It's very sad actually.

Imagine bringing value and not being compensated. Imagine that.

The original sherpa model was "fun" and even acceptable for the very beginning of the project although super flawed and unscalable imo. But it's already silly at this point tbh. And it's about to become irrelevant soon if we don't act with fairness towards valuable contributors and some of the most valuable imo wich are the Sherpas.

Cheers 🍻

Sherpa compensation is long overdue. There are some true heroes on the frontline every day that help onboard new ohmies and answer questions. Those who have helped out know that it can be extremely demanding work, but is also part of what makes the ohmie community stand out. 3,3 goes beyond staking OHM.

I understand the concerns regarding incentives perhaps altering who signs up to be a sherpa, but a true democratic vote with the right people should cut through the noise in regards to those who have proven themselves and those that are maybe simply seeking compensation.

Maybe some tweaks should be made to the proposal, but let's find a way to reward their tireless work.

100% believe that sherpas and mods should be compensated.

I work with them on the community discord and telegram and it's amazing how much time they dedicate to being excellent and teaching all new comers to truly become and OHMie. I've even seen them excel when the price goes down and all channels throughout get bombarded by fud and negativity. Have also seen great efforts by them relaying issues in order to escalate to DAO department responsible.

Would love to have discussion about them being able to join the DAO and become working members along side the community and content team guiding and teaching with written and recorded content.

Jman I would like to 1 up Jman & say 1000% yes.

Sherpas are the front line. We can build the dopest product in the world but if the Sherpas aren't there to answer questions, steer new ohmies from rugs, calm new ohmies concerns, etc. then that dopest app in the world is worthless.

I feel very strongly about this. Sherpas are a critical piece of the puzzle.

Dropkickdarren aaah there are some valid points here tho. I think the fact that the proposal only suggests paying the top Sherpas may counteract your concerns tho. In my humble opinion.

Always nice to see how well articulated the different opinions are around here. What a DAO.
