    Motivation

Creators of decentralized, censorship resistant currencies face three interwoven challenges:

    • Product is complex without precedents

    • Marketing to users is a legal landmine

    • User understanding is critical for success

An educational service operated by a credibly neutral third party that is obsessed with decentralized, censorship resistant currencies (yes, that’s us) can help solve these challenges.

As a company we are committed to upholding the following ideals:

    • Maintaining intellectual honesty and process transparency when creating content

    • Delivering comprehensible input in a low anxiety environment

    • Facilitating Socratic dialogue to articulate where the protocol breaks

    • Distributing educational content that contains Reliable Knowledge*

*Reliable Knowledge is knowledge that has a high probability of being true because its veracity has been justified by a reliable method.

What will Wagmi Labs do for Olympus?

    1. Create a learning curriculum that captures key concepts, mechanism, history and criticism of Olympus protocol (see draft syllabus outline here, will be finalized with input from Policy).

    2. Design an interactive learning experience using Articulate 360 (see example here to get a feel for what we mean by interactive content).

    3. Moderate two live one hour discussions: one on Zoom Webinar for aspiring scholars (requires email address*) and the other in Olympus Discord for casual learners (does not require email address).

    4. Upload live class recordings and short-form summaries to YouTube and share class summary in the form of a Twitter Thread and Linkedin Post.

    5. Provide a report to the community about learning outcomes of enrolled scholars.

*Note that an email address is required to track progress of an aspiring scholar, we will never share your email address with any third party.

How will Olympus Scholars Program content differ from existing content?

Olympus Scholars Program content will be educational and objective. This means our content will also focus on protocol criticism and weaknesses in design. Protocol critique will only take place after learners have internalized how the protocol works and reviewed observable evidence on-chain.

In summary, Olympus Scholars Program content will:

    • Deliver Reliable Knowledge

    • Minimize inference

    • Maximize context

    • Make learning fun

    • Promote Socratic dialogue

How to measure the success of this effort?

We will track the following Key Performance Indicators:

    1. Number of learners enrolled

    2. Hours spent learning

    3. Completion rate

Our North Star is increasing the number of Olympus Scholars where an Olympus Scholar is someone who deeply understands the Olympus Protocol including its weaknesses and limitations. An Olympus Scholar is a truth seeker who does not get defensive when $OHM is criticized. Instead, such a person will seek to “steel man” a critique.

    What is Wagmi Labs Inc?

Wagmi Labs Inc is a Delaware registered C-Corp, to date it has:

    • Conducted a hackathon for OlympusDAO and KlimaDAO in which $100,000 in prizes were paid out. $67k came from Wagmi Labs, $33k came from Odyssey.

    • Co-funded a $50,000 grant for an Olympus Pro implementation on Solana

    • Co-funded a public relations effort for Olympus for $110,000

    • Delivered a presentation at ETH Denver about OlympusDAO

Our current mission is to extract and disseminate Reliable Knowledge from attempts at creating censorship resistant algorithmic currencies

My name is Asfi Shaheen (see my Linkedin Profile here). I am the Founder & CEO of Wagmi Labs. Wagmi Labs raised a seed financing round in January 2022 from True Ventures and Proof Group. I will be conducting these classes personally.

In the coming 4 months Wagmi Labs can only support two customers, our hope is that Olympus Protocol will be one of them.

How will OlympusDAO keep Wagmi Labs accountable?

We propose a milestone based payment schedule. This gives us flexibility to create a truly spectacular learning experiences, collaborate closely with DAO contributors and also ensures we get paid after demonstrating value.

Thus, we propose splitting this payment into three equal parts.

    1. First installment becomes payable after Wagmi Labs has gotten the syllabus outline approved by Policy and uploaded content for the first three classes on Articulate 360. This will take 2-4 weeks.

    2. Second installment becomes payable after Wagmi Labs has conducted seven classes. We expect to get here between week # 8-10 after.

    3. Final installment becomes payable after all classes have been conducted and report on key findings shared with the DAO. We expect to get here between week # 13-16.

Overall goal is to finish this program by December 20th 2022. We have prepared a detailed Gantt Chart here to show a list of activities that make sense today. However, once we get deep into the weeds there will be plan modifications.

    Note from Asfi

    Hi Ohmies!

As a facilitator my goal is to learn with you, not talk at you.

I see Wagmi Labs as an information distillery that will present you a perspective but refrain from sharing “my take” because such takes will be biased.

I want to make our information compiling process fully transparent. I will reach out to several of you personally to solicit feedback but please do not hesitate to reach out to me, especially if you see me doing something contrary to ideals and goals expressed in this proposal.

I’m personally psyched about creating a tight knit group of nerds who like to study aspiring non-sovereign monetary systems but don’t get defensive in an exchange, especially one that is critical of investments they’ve personally made.

I am reachable on comments in forums, Twitter, discord, LinkedIn and pretty much any medium you prefer. All feedback is welcome.

    Polling Period

The polling process begins now and will end at 08:00 UTC on 08/31/2022. After this, a Scattershot vote will be put up at 08:00 UTC on 09/02/2022.

    Poll

  • Very much in favor - as we scale our treasury, we will need to diversify our stable holdings. FEI v2 has proven to be robust.

After some reflection, my only comment would be to change the 10% cap to total fei supply rather than user owned supply.

    • In favor of supporting a keyt partner and testing new revenue stream for the DAO. This is a very conservative allocation and we can call the loan back at any time if things are looking dicey.
