Ohm Wallet with Fiat On-Ramp

Dear Ohmies!

To bring Olympus to the masses we need a way to make the onboarding process as seamless as possible.

I believe the best way we can do this is through an in-house Ohm Wallet with an on-ramp fiat. Please see below link and information on a new path of fiat to defi dApps on Polygon…

If we can create such a simple wallet that incorporates the on-ramp, Fiat > PayPal > Polygon > wsOHM.

Note that those who are onboarded through this will be loyal Ohmies who will (3,3) and are less likely to sell and leave chasing pumps or forks… for them crypto will mean Ohm! It will be their first and long-term investment.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this possible project.

PS. Once that wallet is available we can start a Guerrilla marketing campaign where we take our exceedingly effective meme (3,3) from online and into the real world … Imagine (3,3) plastered all over Times Square … mass transport hubs .. generate the hype and get people asking and wondering what is (3,3) … and then the reveal!

sounds like an awesome concept! first step is to get liquidity on other chains… then launch regular olympus front end on other chains - then this imo

i am onboarding new people all year long and it's very difficult for them to buy sOHM nevermind gas costs x)

IMO Olympus at this stage probably shouldn't be making a mobile app. There's a lot of development and support that goes into delivering a mobile app, and a lot of overhead required to deliver just one product, which would be (3,3) staking. It's likely that a team with a real focus on delivering mobile wallets, like Argent, Dharma, Rainbow, etc. would be a better partner to pull off an integration like this. Personally, I'd like to see a partnership between Olympus and Argent or similar to deliver an easy (3,3) staking opportunity on top of ZKSync L2. Once mass market ZKSync wallets are live, I'll be proposing something similar to try and get integrated Olympus staking. Zaps, which went live today, are also an important part of making that possible.

i like the idea but I agree with oxide.

Dharma is an easy way without metamask. It has sOhm and can be bought directly from the app.

I understand and it is indeed better to rely on an existing on/off ramp like Dharma, but do they serve people outside USA? I would love to see if someone from our dev or partnership teams have contacts with Polygon or Alchemy Pay teams as they have this module that can be plugged into our homepage…

So agreed, instead of a wallet, we put a module in our website (like the zapper we just deployed) to allow people on ramp!

Hey team, Polygon has one of the best wallet experience that any DApp can natively integrate.

The wallet has one of the best user flow for onboarding to a web 3 project, it has inbuilt NFT support, and custom indexers to display it.

Apart from it, they have natively integrated fiat on-ramp in the wallet.

You can use this and create a OHM wallet on Polygon.

The wallet is called Sequence by Horizon Games team, and best part is its open-source.

Agree not only that a direct fiat on-ramp would be massive (I've struggled very hard to sign up brand new Ohmies who are non-technical), and Alchemy Pay seems to have the scale that would make this very easy (60+ countries supported). I'm a big fan of this and agree it would be super helpful!

The FUSE Network chain has a mobile wallet (Fuse Cash) with direct fiat on ramp and actually integrates with your smart phone contacts to be able to send and receive crypto. Also have some unique, back up and social recovery features. The chain is still small but you should definitely check out the wallet, it might be easier to integrate and leverage their wallet…in fact, I think that is part of their model.
