Summary

After the successful first quarter running the management of the DAO over the Olympus Association, we’d propose to fund the association with another 2,070,000 DAI in OHM for the expenses of Q1 and Q2 2023 according to the Budget set in OIP-128. The Association is an independent non-profit organization without any commercial purpose. The main goals are to research, develop, operate, and maintain Olympus, while developing Olympus Ecosystem and defending the interests of its members.

Motivation

The motivation for this proposal is to continue to fund the Olympus Association so that it may execute the budget approved by the Olympus DAO community.

The Olympus Association is important for providing contributors a formal structure to coordinate work, compensations, and establish relations with other organizations and contractors in order to fulfill the Olympus Protocol vision. The Olympus Association provides its members the necessary legal representation to increase efficiency and efficacy. Importantly, this OOP does not change or increase the overall budget. The existing budget already approved in OIP-128 applies.

Proposal

We seek authorization from the Olympus DAO Community to fund working capital based on the budgeting needs of Olympus Association. The current request is for covering expenses Q1 and Q2 2023, for a total of 2,070,000 USD in OHM equivalent.

Polling Period

The polling process begins now and will end at 17:00 UTC on 02/26/2023. After this, a Snapshot vote will be put up at 17:30 UTC on 02/26/2023.

Nice one team. And thanks for the OOP naming format, thats gonna be puntastic in snapshot. 😉

This is a logical step given the previous budget - keep the team moving along!

    Hey,

Glad this passed. Is there a plan to trade the earmarked $2M worth of OHM for USDC? Given market conditions, I would imagine might make sense to do so sooner than later.

Happy to chat about best way to OTC this to avoid any price impact x slippage especially given that the slippage is non-trivial. (For transparency, I cofounded on-chain OTC protocol SIZE.)

nic Woah there. With the relative stability of OHM price it'd be a massive own goal to sell OHM unnecessarily/early - don't be fudding our coin. Also…check the size of Olympus' owned LPs. Slippage ain't no thang. 😉

Oops I think you may have misinterpreted. Not fudding. Suggesting a solution that ensures longer term aligned holders since SIZE offers custom vesting etc.

The team has done a great job building one of the most innovative protocols in the industry. Glad to see this pass.
