What does it mean to be the reserve currency of DeFi? And how does OHM differentiate itself from fiat currencies?
I believe most of us see value in OHM because of its mechanics, the community, but especially the 'decentralised governance'. OHM should not be able to be influenced by shareholders that own a big chunk of the circulating supply. This is why Olympus is such a revolutionary project. In today's world, central banks are interfering with the economy to an extend we have not seen before. This is arguably screwing up the mechanics of economy and the ideology of capitalism as a whole. Just last week we saw a $7.4bln hedge fund (Anchorage Capital) shut down. Not because they were underperforming, but because capital allocation got close to impossible due to central bank interference with monetary and fiscal policy.
I think we can conclude that this is the polar opposite of what we want to happen with Olympus. We want to make sure there is no way for individuals or a group of people to end up deciding over Olympus' policy.
I am an Olympus-maximalist and irresponsibly long on the project. Personally, I believe that Olympus could end up in the Top 10 crypto assets within 4 years. This makes it even more important that the voting structure is as fair as possible. Therefore, I vouch for a cap on voting power. This cap does not have to be extremely low, and I would not recommend equal voting power for everyone that holds gOHM. However, a cap of 3000 OHM would be a great start.
