AoshichanX personally I see this as expanding the budget to catch up to the roles and duties which have already increased in prior months
OIP-47: Olympus Stopgap Budget Proposal
Do it. Also Apollo is cool.
abipup Maybe I wasn't clear. I meant that it would be good to have some sort of limit on the # of individuals compensated at each position without a clear metric in place. IE: # of sherpas/mods per 1,000 members in discord or same with design.
I think its great that we have faith that only contributors will be compensated to their level of value provided. However, there is no visibility in these payments. Wouldn't it make sense for visibility and trust to be built by disclosing these payments? I'm curious how many wallets receive payments for being a contributor and are there any that get compensated for multiple positions? I'm not intentionally trying to FUD the project, because OHM is my biggest bag. I'm just trying to provide a counter viewpoint to continue the discussion and help it become the reserve currency of crypto.
tldr: I'm NOT proposing a max budget. just looking for clarity on how we compensate contributors for performance and metrics for how to know when more positions are needed at each level.
AoshichanX All product launches, including Incubator, are under the Olympus brand (not a Franchise model). This budget will enable us to support resources for each product line.
oasising agree that muting community members is not the (3,3) way. DM me and we'll find ways to improve on this process.
cryptok1ng good point and DAO needs to improve on its communications. Today, team leads (Strategos) allocate team budget based on relative contribution. Contributors who don't do any work get paid $0. Top contributors get paid up to a max budget (or lower, depending on Stratego). In the future, I see increasingly distributed allocations taking place.
cryptok1ng there is a data set, where you can see all the contributions for all individual contributors on team level.
cryptok1ng this dashboard gets updated after every allocation:

In terms of budget you mention
If we simulate this budget on October DAO allocations, we would have had a global DAO budget of $170,000 per week, which represents an 88% increase in weekly budget. Put into perspective, the protocol currently distributes ~$12M every 8 hours via rebases.
Another way to look at this is that the 7 day moving average from inbound bonds income is ~$1M per day. So the weeks budget is covered with 17% of income on one day of the week (or about 4 hours).
With this in mind - think the budget proposed is still relatively small compared to the incoooooooooooooom
Many thanks to Abipup for this proposal and Apollo for taking emergency action last month!
I am strongly in favor of making sure Ohmies are paid fairly. With Ohm forks springing up everywhere, the competition for talent is heating up. Now is an important time to make sure we are compensating contributors fairly.
There is currently an active discussion in the compensation channel on the Olympus DAO server. The ops team is working to implement a more comprehensive approach to managing talent by early next year.
As a temporary solution, this is great.
Looking forward to a longer-term and scalable model.
DarkTemplarH I'm in the process of writing up clearer guidelines so the community will be aware of that. If they make a repeated offense then they'll be muted for increasingly longer periods before a ban.
This is a necessary temp solution whilst we revamp our restructuring and onboarding process.
Excited to help build out and see the restructure take place as well!

abipup thank you for bringing up this important topic.
Could I ask you for a personal favour, please. You write here: "Grew our Olympus DAO Discord by 272% - Youtube Subscribers increased by 46% - YouTube video views increased by 75% - Twitter followers increased by 82% - Medium viewers increased by 63% - Reddit followers increased by 165%"
Could you please add the official Telegram that Olympus runs successfully. See Official Telegram Group
Zorb, Jman, me and a few others actively increasing the level of support in our official Telegram.
I friendly request that you mention this in your proposal, as its about acknowledging the hard work we (the active members in there) have put into it.
We reaching more than 7400 people right now (Stand: 18 Nov) and I remember getting in there with 800 people. So its obvious a place of traffic and I am giving my life to promote OHM in there the best way possible, so new users
- onboard easier
- find out about Discord
- learn about hardware wallets
- understand what are the long term goals for OHM
- see the hard work by members of the DAO, as we share results with personal comments about it
I have my personal way to entertain the people, so I am taking them on my trips with 720p Videos, in which I explain what kind of OHMies I am meeting in real life, where I see OHM at the current stage and compared to the market globally, we have really good energies in there, which is unusual for a Telegram group, as mostly they are filled with moon boys and get quick rich audience.
Please mention Telegram in your proposal, it would mean a lot to me personally.

@abipup thanks for all the clarity surrounding budget and KPI metrics such as YT, Twitter, and Discord.
I am excited for the possibility of finding more career opportunities in a protocol than at a corporation.
At the rates outlined above, mods have the ability to make $132,000 (!) on an annual basis. This is massive.
Would there be value in aggregating different roles and opportunities to get involved in OlympusDAO? I think if some people were aware of the range of roles and compensation it could attract impressive talent.
bike4peace done and done ser, thank you for your efforts there in telegram land.

wollemiPine Ser, see my post above. We take in more than $1m a day in bonds. 7 day moving average for total revenue (fees included) is$ 8-9m

I pulled up the metrics for telegram and our user base increased by 174.271% from October 8th to November 8th
October 8: 2262 users
Nov 7: 6204 users
I will talk with you soon in person, how we can make this TG channel the most peaceful weapon to get the moon kids back to earth and show them what does it mean, when we talk about longterm sustainable defi investment.
I am very happy and proud to have your support, in whatever I am executing in Telegram.
Thanks for being in this with me together bro.
